The SON29 has a more powerful dynamo for faster charging of mobile phones and GPS devices. This new hub also uses straight pull spokes. The left side hub flange is larger than the right side as it has the new dynamo core inside. The Co-Axial connector is built into the hub, so there's no need for the adapter. Your headlight or USB charger will need to be fitted with a male Co-Axial connector.
The 12:12 hub has tangential spoking on both flanges. The 16:8 and 16:16 hubs have tangential spoking on the disc side, and radial spoking on the opposite side.
